About EMBERS
EMBERS is a Mobility Platform that aims to stimulate the smart city ecosystem in Europe. While providing an IoT middleware with open APIs, we’re seeking for developers to reveal the strong potential of the platform and integrate new data sets as well as to design innovative applications and solutions.

How it works
WHY SHALL I ATTEND?
Junction is Europe’s largest Hackathon, an incredible opportunity to embrace and build innovative concepts in an engaging environment, for free!
PRIZES
Besides all the fabulous prizes of our track, you can still win Junction’s main prize of 20.000 EUR!
JUDGING
We’ll evaluate your creativity using EMBERS APIs to solve complex technical challenges, addressing the mobility and transportation sectors.
TEAMS
Teams can be up to 5 people. If you want to hack alone, that’s totally fine. If you are still looking for a team, don’t worry, we will have team building and pitching sessions at the event. You can apply at any time and join any team at any time. The team question in the application is only to make sure the entire team makes it to the event.
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Junction is organising bus rides from Oulu, Kajaani, Pietari and so far. Interested in arranging a bus ride from your location? Get in contact with participants@hackjunction.com and get some help with it Junction will have school-level accommodation available in multiple different destinations for a few hundred participants. If you want to make sure you have room to sleep in, book a room at our partner hotel or hostel. More information to come. There will be enough food to keep everyone hacking well into the night, thanks to Junction’s amazing partners. In the registration form, please state any dietary restrictions so we can take them into consideration when making orders.
WHO OWNS THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY?
All intellectual property created at the event is owned solely by the participants and their team. Further plans may be discussed between the partners and the teams after the hackathon.
